I have been searching to find my Beaumont Family Roots for some time. I do believe I have finally found where and how my line fits into the family line. By finding a document in the pension records of my 3rd great uncle, John Henry Sly, who died in the Civil War I was able to find out just who my 4th great grandfather was, John F Beaumont, born abt 1784 in NY. In doing research Oliver Beaumont had a son by the name of John Beaumont who would be the same age group as my 4th great grandfather. With help from other Beaumont descendents I have verified that it is indeed my 4th great grandfather. I'll start with a little family history and as with prior webpages on this site I will only be elaborating my direct Beaumont line. Eventually I will have everyone added to my database at rootsweb and you will be able to search for even those not listed on this page. Each person in my direct family line will be underlined.

William Beaumont (Bement, Beamond, Beamon) was born 1608 in Carlisle, Cumbria, England and is the first Beaumont in my family tree to come to America from England. He and his brother John Bement left England in April 1653 onboard the ship Elizabeth. William settled his family in Connecticut. William married Lydia Danforth on December 9, 1643, in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut. Lydia was born May 24, 1625 in Framlingham, Suffolk, England and died August 16, 1686 in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut. Children of William and Lydia: - Lydia Beaumont, born March 9, 1644, Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut and died July 30, 1734. She married twice - 1st spouse was Samuel Boyes - 2nd spouse was Alexander Pygram
- Mary Beaumont, born November 12, 1647, Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut and died after 1689. She married John Tully
- Elizabeth Beaumont, born March 2, 1649, Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut and died October 30, 1694 in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut. She married Captain John Chapman.
- Deborah Beaumont, born November 29,1652, in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut and died June 17, 1683 in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut. She married Thomas Gilbert
- Abigail Beaumont, born February 20, 1654 in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut and died September 29, 1683 in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut
- Samuel Beaumont, born February 28, 1656 in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut and died November 1747 in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut. He married twice but only had children with his first wife. Samuel married Hester Buckingham between 1687 and 1689. She was born January 10, 1668 in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut. 2nd Spouse - Alice Young.
